Roger Wayne Steede, 44, of Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly, because of heart failure, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home.
He was born April 26, 1975 in Ishpeming, a son of Richard and Carol (Nault) Steede. He attended Westwood High School and graduated in 1993 and was a lifelong area resident.
Roger worked as a carpenter and finisher for his dad and with his brothers for his family’s business, Rich’s Building & Drywall. He also worked at Classic Auto Collision. He was last employed with his brother building custom furniture.
Roger enjoyed puzzles, strategy and chess games and browsing through antique stores. He was charismatic, loved to have fun and make people laugh. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and loved his cats, Natasha & Peps.
Roger’s death was too close to that of his younger brother, Jonathan, two years and four months to the day. They both left us in this world too soon. Like an ancient book says, “Life is like a mist that appears for just a day; then disappears tomorrow”.
Roger will be greatly missed by his family, particularly his youngest son, Conner. They had a close bond that helped Roger through a lot of trials in life.
He is survived by his sons, Cory and Conner Steede of Ishpeming; parents, Richard & Carol Steede of Champion; former wife, Bonnie Steede of Ishpeming; brother, Bryan (Valerie) Steede of Champion; aunts & uncles, Theresa (Dave) Danielson of Ishpeming, Larry Nault of National Mine, Donald (Linda) Steede of Negaunee, Al (Debbie) Morris of Ishpeming, Chrissy Walline of Skandia, Mary Jo Ketola of Montana, Jackie Holmgren of Negaunee, Denny Stanaway of Ishpeming, Jerry (Iris) Stankorb of Texas; nieces & nephews, Nicklas Oliver and Violet Steede, Aryana and Dakota Steede; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Jonathan Steede.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 5 pm at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home, 526 N. Third Street in Marquette. Visitation will be held from 3 pm until the time of the service in the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service also in the funeral home.
