Duane D. Danielson, 92, of Ishpeming, passed away September 8, 2020, at his home in the loving care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.
Duane was born March 2, 1928 in Negaunee to Carl (Albert) and Evelyn (Whitburn) Danielson.
He was a 1947 graduate of Negaunee High School.
His love of God moved him to dedication and baptism on June 10, 1951 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
On December 13, 1957 he married his lifelong partner, Lillian Hakala, and together they raised their three children. God and family were the most important things in his life.
Duane lived a full life and enjoyed telling stories of his adventures. He was a friend to everyone and always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved nature and being outdoors and awaited the time when he could enjoy life on the earth forever. He had much knowledge about animals, fishing, cars and life and was always willing to share that acknowledge with anyone willing to learn.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; daughter, Debbie; two sons, David (Theresa) and Dale; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn (Alex) Feldbauer, all of Ishpeming. He is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bette Acklin and Marilou Servant; and a brother, Marvin.
