My heart was broken for you all when I heard the news of Coach passing, but rejoiced for him. He no longer suffering, is whole, and in the prescence of his Heavenly Father. So many wonderful memories flooded my mind. He loved the Lord and our church and all those in it! Especially the kids! He made a difference in so many lives. He was so blessed to have a family who loved him so very much. I know the days ahead will be hard, but hold on to the peace of knowing right where he is, and as born again believers you WILL see him again and spend eternity with him! We love you all!

I have many stories but the moment I realized what baseball meant to Coach Bob was this. We were at home playing summer league ball, 1990, a cocky pitcher gave up a home run and I sat and laughed with my glove over my face. After all it was summer ball. Nothing was said till the game was done. In the locker room coach gave us hell. He never called me out but I knew what he meant. He had tears in his eyes. His love and passion for the game was beyond what I could comprehend at the time. He was the first to the field and the last to leave. He had love for anyone he taught and only wanted the best from them. What he did, the lives he touched, the passion he showed will never be forgotten. While these are words I should have said to your father, I now say them to you so you can understand how much he impacted lives. Whether it was one life or hundreds, he made a difference, and that you will be proud of. Thank you for sharing your dad "coach" with us.

Very sorry to hear about coach passing. He was a good Christian man. He was loved by everyone at Sawyer free will Baptist. Our prayers are with you all. God bless.
