Edward E. Nowlin, Jr., 81, of Ishpeming, passed away Friday morning, December 28, 2018 at The Lighthouse of Ishpeming.
Edward was born on July 15, 1937 in West Branch, Michigan to the late Edward and Florence (Phillips) Nowlin, Sr. On August 15, 1970, he married the former Deana LeMay in Iron Mountain and together they moved with their family to Ishpeming in 1972.
Ed retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a truck driver and then later started Nowlin Trucking, which he owned and operated for several years.
In his free time, Ed was an avid motorcyclist and greatly enjoyed his coffee clutches with friends.
Survivors include four children, William (Eulita) Nowlin of Lawton, OK, Edwina Nowlin of Palmer, AK, Sandra (Gary) Vargo of Marquette and John (Angela) Nowlin of Gwinn; 12 grandchildren, Becky, Seth, Victor, Kim, Lana, Louie, Kayla, Jessica, Tyler, James, Ashlee, and Xena; also 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Georgetta Galla of Traverse City, MI as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was his wife, Deana Nowlin on July 25, 2015.
Respecting Ed’s wishes, a private memorial gathering with his immediate family will take place at a later time.
